Photowalk 50 - Snowman.
So, I just got back to my computer after a few days off celebrating Christmas with both sets of families and you guys don't take breaks, do you? I have over 500 photos from my contacts still go to through - I'll see them all eventually, I promise.
And thank goodness I took next week off of work, because I have a lot of photos myself to go through. These two I'm posting now are still from December 12th! Which means I have almost 2 weeks worth of photos to edit and upload... and one last photowalk to go on, too! Hard to believe that project has almost come to an end.
I hope you all had a very happy and safe holiday - John and I did.

We haven't seen Charlie in my stream in a while, have we? He took the trip out to Connecticut with me, and one reason was specifically so I could get this picture. I don't put up a tree myself, but I thought Charlie would look darn cute in front of one, so I had him pose in front of my parents tree :)

Photowalk 50 - Centerpiece
These beautifully decorated candles go down the center of my mom's dining room table. The composition of this photo isn't really ideal, but my mom is a high school math teacher and was in the middle of grading tests and quizes and papers and her laptop were all over the table so this is really the only shot I got where you couldn't tell there was so much chaos around it :)

Photowalk 50 - Fire
My parents have three fireplaces, and converted two of them to gas this year and got new fire place screens. I'm jealous (I have one fireplace, it's gas, but we never use it because the cats are able to push the screen aside and get into the fireplace and they use it as a litter box, so we keep a chest in front of it so they can't get in anymore. Sad. One day I'll get a new screen and we'll actually use the darn thing.)

Do you ever look at your photos once you have them on your computer and just shake your head looking at one of them wondering "what was I THINKING?" Well, that's how I feel about this photo. I'm not sure why i thought it would have been so hard to compose the shot so the entire message was in it.

Photowalk 50 - Mary
My mom collected this Hummel nativity set over many years, and displays it on the mantel in the living room (the family room mantel has the same Willow Tree Nativity set that I do). I don't consider myself a very religious person, but I've always found Mary to be the most interesting subject in any Nativity scene. I can't help but think that of all the people there, she had to have the strangest emotions going on at the time, and I like to see how the artist attempted to capture that.

My mom has a GIANT window in her living room filled with this stained glass thingies. Each one with a different traditional Christmas symbol on it - Holly, Santa, Snowman, Candles, a Tree, an Angel... and I can't even remember what else... but there's tons.

These photos are from last weekend (the 11th-13th) when we were in Connecticut. We spent this past weekend in Columbus. I'm pretty exhausted, actually, and glad that I only have 3 more days left to work this year. I'm looking forward to spending my week+ off focusing on catching up on various aspects of my photography.
