walk stella
With the combination of nearly two feet of snow and our whole neighborhood not being plowed, our car took a much needed day off. Good day to go for a walk? You bet!

walk park
You would think that the park would be empty, but the swings were packed and the slide was being slid on. I love that a little snow doesn't stop the kids from having some outdoor fun.

protection from the storm
The wind was blowing so hard that the snow was like pinpricks on our faces and it was impossible to bring the camera out. Our solution for taking pictures was to either huddle together with our backs to the wind or hide behind a tree.

Found a bench in my neighborhood I didn't know was there... I foresee some Bench Monday happenings to take place here? :o)

feeding behavior
The juncos were landing on high, seed-laden stalks of grass so that they would weigh it down to the ground and then pick the seeds out.

measuring the snow
The hubs walked around with a ruler checking to see how high the snow was. At the end of the walk it averaged 14-16 inches. A few hours later I measured another 5 inches on the steps where I had shoveled. Whew! 20 inches!!
